Work Experience
OPENLANE (fka KAR Global)
Information Security and Data Privacy Analyst
This role focused on advancing cybersecurity through strategic initiatives in collaboration with our SOC and other teams in OPENLANE. My responsibilities included leading security-related interdisciplinary projects, emphasizing the architectural and engineering facets of cybersecurity. Much work involved improvement of threat detection via developments of our SIEM and log management systems. This effort not only yielded substantial cost savings ($500k+) but also boosted the operational efficiency of our SOC. Some initiatives include a complete overhaul of our log management and SIEM architecture, advanced detection engineering using SIEM and log analytics, conducting in-depth risk assessments of endpoints using DISA and CISA benchmarks, looking at endpoint security alerts, and integrating cloud asset and vulnerability management with our threat intelligence platform. My responsibilities also extended to innovation and progress with cloud security, asset management, digital forensics, security data integration, firewall rule migration, and several other cybersecurity disciplines.
